About Health Watch

Health inspection records for Apex, in one place.

Health Watch is a public-facing map of inspection records for restaurants, pools, care facilities, tattoo artists, and other regulated establishments in Apex, North Carolina. The goal is simple: make public inspection records easier to browse, compare, and understand.

How it works

  • The map and sidebar are built from public Wake County inspection records and inspection detail pages.
  • Each establishment shows its latest inspection result, along with recent history when multiple reports are available.
  • Restaurant inspections are shown as scores or grades. Pool and care-facility inspections show demerits, where lower is better.
  • You can search, filter, and sort the list to focus on recent inspections, repeat issues, or specific establishments.

What this is for

Health Watch is meant to help residents quickly see inspection patterns that would otherwise require opening records one by one. It is a browsing and discovery tool, not a replacement for the underlying inspection report.

Important context

Inspection records are public documents, but they can still require context. A low score, demerit total, or violation note is only one part of the picture. If a detail matters, read the full inspection report and rely on the source record rather than the summarized view alone.

Why this exists

Public information is most useful when people can actually find it and make sense of it. Health Watch brings scattered inspection records into one place so Apex residents can keep an eye on local establishments without digging through multiple pages of county records.
